A product built by APRJ Development

FastPunch: construction observations into a working punch list.

FastPunch is APRJ Development’s construction punch list product. The project brings voice capture, item details, photos and reporting into a workflow for documenting work in the field and reviewing it afterwards.

The job the software supports

A construction observation needs context: where the issue is, which trade it concerns, what needs attention and what its current status is. Capturing a note is one step; keeping those details available for review is the broader product task.

FastPunch organizes observations as punch items within projects and lots. Its interface gives the person reviewing the list a place to find the description, location and status together, rather than treating the original note as the finished handoff.

From voice to structured information

The iOS implementation includes voice capture and processing that maps a transcript into item information such as lot, location, trade, description and priority. That makes the boundary between natural-language input and structured application data a central part of the build.

Review matters at that boundary. A transcript may need clarification, and a proposed item change needs to retain the right project context. The application includes item editing and photo controls so the field record is more than a transcription alone.

Make the field record useful afterwards

The product has item lists with status and location information, alongside reporting code for project and lot punch lists. This connects capture to a later review or reporting task rather than ending the workflow at the microphone.

APRJ’s implementation work spans the native Swift application, its item data and the supporting Firebase integration. Different product modes and releases have their own available workflows. The FastPunch product site is the destination for current availability and commercial terms.

What this shows about a custom build

A useful software project starts with the information people need to move work forward. In this case, the important design questions sit between capture, an editable item, its current state and the report someone uses next.

For a consulting engagement, APRJ applies the same approach: define the users and handoffs, establish the information model, connect the required systems and test the complete workflow. Scope and delivery milestones follow the particular project.
